The following post is something I have just written on my other website www.learningmentor.org to encourage learning. Learning provokes changing and doing changes is an easy way to innovate, to re-create, to think about different options.
Learning is not only about English, Maths and Science. There are many interesting topics. Some of them you can find them inside English, Maths and Science and others outside them. You can even create games or do interesting activities to learn English, Maths, Science and any other topics. An example to play and learn is http://www.blockcad.net/ You could enjoy writing letters, poems, stories, solving interesting problems related to your areas of interest and inventing new products, playing with chemistry or predicting the behaviour/effect of forces and moving objects/animals or stars.
You could do a role play as if you were Descartes, Galileo, Edison or William Blake. You could think about how to improve the society where you live. Why not learn about somebody interesting such as Benjamin Franklin and learn what he used to do and if it could be applied to your life with interesting consequences?
"You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else."
